Dubai… The Atlantis the palm

More and more recently we are finding that Dubai is becoming more popular for that short  winter sun getaway. People are realising the value for money that Dubai offers, whether it be cruising around the or spending 5 nights on the beautiful palm.

My most recent visit to Dubai was in May staying for 4 nights at the Atlantis the palm. Flying out with Emirates we had the usual fantastic service with food and legroom and great entertainment to compliment the journey.

On arrival into Dubai we were greeted by cheery staff from Arabian adventures (the largest local ground handler in Dubai).

After a short transfer and some needed air conditioning (arriving into 30 degrees C at 8pm), we were welcomed to the Atlantis the palm.

We were booked into a deluxe room on floor 2 which was huge. Absolutely spotless and a very large terrace. Definitely worth requesting 2nd floor for larger outdoor balcony space.
Waking up to beautiful warm sunshine and stunning views on our first day in Dubai we felt like our holiday had begun!

First morning at breakfast and there was a huge choice, whether you wanted fruit, pancakes, cooked breakfast there was something for everyone.
On our first full day we thought it would be worth trying the city tour. The city tour includes a visit to old Dubai and you also see the huge fountain show down at Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world).

After returning to the hotel we spent the afternoon with a cocktail around the pool. Between 6-8pm at the Atlantis they offer happy hour which is 2 cocktails for £12 (pretty good for Dubai).

The next day for us was spent relaxing by the pool and topping up the tans! As we had such a relaxed day we decided to sample an evening ‘Desert Safari’. A 90 minute drive out of Dubai and we were taken to a blissful part of Dubai ready for sunset. We joined our tour guide in a 4×4 and did some off roading which was great!
We then stopped for Sunset and a few pictures before being taken to our camp where we had great food, wine and dined like locals.

After 4 nights of relaxing, eating and plenty of shopping it was time to head home. We opted for a business class upgrade on the return which was worth every penny! Luxury and service at its best.. And also a lovely way to finish our holiday.

This was my 5th time to Dubai and it always amazes me how much It changes every time…
Value for money is something Dubai is definitely up on! With the expo 2020 soon approaching tourism is only set to get bigger.
